I’ve been running WhisperMonitor for a little while and I found the “Android System” wanted access to 216.187.118.44 on port 80 and 65.39.128.135 on port 80. I have blocked these however I have noticed that they are always trying to connect to the Internet.

Which makes it seem that it has to do with location. However there is traffic or I should say attempted traffic on these IP addresses when all my location settings are off. It happens when I’m either connected to Wi-fi only or EDGE/3G/HDSP only or even both at the same time. I can’t really find a correlation between system activity and this traffic.

Though a quick ‘whois’ information on the IP addresses matches back to somewhere in Canada.

Any thoughts on what the source of this traffic is?
